Terms of use
The ground rules for this website.
Last updated October 28, 2026
The short version.
These terms cover your use of yourtherapyworks.com, the website of Elena Huttenlocher, MSW, LISW-CP/S, doing business as Your Therapy Works (“we”, “Elena”). By using the site you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use the site.
1. Information, not treatment
Everything on this site, including the articles, the 30-day guide and the quit-day picker, is general information about counseling and hypnotherapy. It isn't medical, psychological or legal advice, and it isn't a diagnosis or a treatment plan for you. Talk with a qualified professional about your own situation.
2. Using the site doesn't make you a client
Reading the site, sending the contact form, emailing, or booking the free 20-minute call does not create a therapist-client relationship. That begins only once you and Elena agree to work together and you complete the practice's intake and consent paperwork.
The free call is a short conversation to see whether working together is a good fit. It isn't a session.
3. Emergencies
The site, the forms and the practice's email are not watched around the clock and are not a way to get urgent help. If you are in crisis or thinking about harming yourself or someone else, call or text 988 (the Suicide and Crisis Lifeline, free, any hour) or call 911, or go to the nearest emergency room.
4. Who can be seen, and where
Elena is licensed in South Carolina. Online counseling is available only to people who are physically in South Carolina at the time of the session. Clinical hypnotherapy, online, is available wherever you are, where local law allows it.
Hypnotherapy is not a medical procedure and is not a substitute for medical care. Keep seeing your doctor for any medical condition, including pain, weight and smoking-related health concerns.
5. Booking and cancelling the free call
Please give a real name and a phone number where you can be reached at the time you choose. Elena will call you at that number. Your confirmation includes a link to cancel, and you can also call or text (843) 633-6000 to cancel or change the time.
Fees, payment, and cancellation policies for paid sessions are covered in your intake paperwork, not on this site.
6. Results
Counseling and hypnotherapy help many people, but everyone's experience is different, and no particular outcome is promised or guaranteed. Descriptions of approaches and programs on this site are not a guarantee that they will work for you.
7. Using the site fairly
Please don't misuse the site: no sending false information, spam or harmful code through the forms, no trying to get into parts of the site that aren't meant for you, and no copying the site's text, photos or downloads for commercial use. You're welcome to share links and to print the free guides for your own use.
The text, photos, guides and design belong to Elena Huttenlocher or are used with permission.
8. Links to other sites
Links to other websites, such as Google Maps or crisis resources, are there for your convenience. We don't control those sites and aren't responsible for their content or their privacy practices.
9. The site itself
We work to keep the site accurate and available, but it is provided as it is, and it may sometimes be unavailable or contain mistakes. To the fullest extent the law allows, we aren't liable for losses that come from using the website itself. Nothing in these terms limits any duty Elena owes you as a licensed professional once you are a client.
10. Law, changes and questions
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of South Carolina. If they change, the date at the top changes with them. Your privacy is covered in the privacy policy.
Questions: call or text (843) 633-6000, or use the contact page.
