What this website keeps, and what it doesn't.
Last updated October 28, 2026
The short version.
- No advertising or analytics tracking, and your information is never sold or shared for marketing.
- The forms ask only how to reach you. Please don't put health details in them.
- Your actual care (notes, intake forms, sessions) lives in Elena's HIPAA-compliant practice software, not on this website.
This policy covers yourtherapyworks.com, the website of Elena Huttenlocher, MSW, LISW-CP/S, doing business as Your Therapy Works, 4325 Dick Pond Road, Suite C, Myrtle Beach, SC 29588. “We” and “Elena” below mean the practice.
1. What we collect
When you ask for a free call or send the contact form: your name, phone number, email, what you are interested in, and when and how you'd like to be reached. The forms deliberately have no place for health details.
When you book a free call: your name, phone, email, what you are interested in, and the time you chose.
When you email the practice: email sent to an @yourtherapyworks.com address is received and stored by this website's secure mail system so Elena can read and answer it. That includes your address, the message and any attachments.
To stop spam and abuse: when a form is sent, we keep a one-way scrambled code made from your internet address. It can't be turned back into the address, and it is only used to limit how many requests one connection can send.
Ordinary server logs: like any website, the servers that host this site briefly record technical details of each visit (such as the page, time, browser type and internet address) to keep the site running and secure.
We don't use advertising pixels, analytics tools, or social media trackers.
2. How it is used
Only to reply to you, to set up your free call and remind Elena to make it, to send you a booking confirmation with a cancellation link, and to keep the site secure. We don't use it for marketing, and we never sell, rent or trade it.
3. How long it is kept
- Free-call requests and contact forms: deleted automatically 90 days after Elena has followed up.
- Free-call bookings: deleted automatically one year after the call.
- Email: kept in the practice mailbox until Elena deletes it, like any email account.
- Spam-prevention codes are stored with the request they came with and deleted along with it.
If you become a client, your records are kept in the practice software for as long as South Carolina law and professional standards require.
4. Who else handles it
The site runs on a small number of service providers, each bound to keep the information confidential and to use it only to provide their service to us: a cloud hosting provider, a managed database, and an email service that sends and receives the practice's mail. The site was built and is maintained by Huttenlocher Technologies, which can access these systems only to keep them running. We'll name any of them if you ask.
The office map on the contact page is loaded from Google Maps, which may set its own cookies when the map loads (see the cookie policy).
We may disclose information if the law requires it, such as a valid court order, or to protect someone's safety.
5. Existing clients and your care
Session notes, intake forms, secure messages and video sessions run through Elena's practice software, which is HIPAA compliant and separate from this website.
Anything you share in counseling or hypnotherapy is confidential under South Carolina law and professional ethics, with the standard legal exceptions, which Elena will go over with you before you begin.
Please don't send health details through the website forms or by ordinary email, which isn't a secure channel. Save them for your call or your session.
6. Children and teens
Elena works with children and teens, but this website is meant for parents, guardians and adults. If you are under 18, please have a parent or guardian reach out. If we learn that a child under 13 has sent us personal information through the site, we will delete it.
7. What stays on your own device
The 30-day guide, the quit-day picker and the light or dark display setting remember your choices in your own browser, not on our servers. Clearing your browser data removes them. Details are in the cookie policy.
8. Your choices
You can ask to see, correct or delete what the website holds about you at any time. Call or text (843) 633-6000 or use the contact page, and it will be taken care of.
9. Security
The site uses encrypted connections, the database can only be reached by the site itself and by Elena's signed-in dashboard, and access is limited to the people who need it. No system is perfectly secure, so we keep what we collect to a minimum.
10. Changes and questions
If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it. Questions: call or text (843) 633-6000, or use the contact page.
