Most people have times in their life when they are struggling to
cope as various issues can feel overwhelming.   People often keep
to themselves how bad things really are until they find the courage
and motivation to seek help.  Sometimes it isn't enough to talk with
friends or family about these things and people can feel unsure
what to say or do to help.

I have the skill and experience to help you cope with life's
challenges,  mend relationships, resolve conflict, heal trauma and
hurt, and rebuild your life.  The counselling I provide can help you
to gain skills and strategies to overcome thoughts and feelings that
may be making you unhappy and causing you to feel stuck.   We can
work on parenting skills development and support for mums and
dads who struggle to cope with children that seem 'out of control'
or unhappy.  I can help you through common life changes and
developmental challenges, such as family breakdown.

I have extensive experience with various types of issues, including:

* Parenting Challenges
* Separation/ Divorce
* Trauma
* Fear/ Anxiety / Stress
* Depression
* Step-parenting/ Blended Families
* Family Conflict
* Relationship Difficulties
* Abuse Issues
* Anger Management
* Grief and Loss
* Understanding, Managing, and Resolving
Child/ Adolescent’s Concerning Behavior

I have a special interest in helping people overcome trauma and
have specialized training in this area.  In my experience, people
often have underlying trauma they may not recognize, that is
impacting on their lives.  Trauma may not be obvious, as in one
horrible event.  It may be an accumulation of experiences over
time. People may not realise the powerful effect trauma can have
on their lives and how amazing it is to be free from it.

I have worked with children and adults on trauma and have special
training and experience in
EMDR, a particular therapy for helping
people to free themselves of negative beliefs about themselves and
distressing thoughts and feelings associated with trauma.  To read
more about it, please click on the link:

It is my aim to focus on the comfort and safety of individuals and
family members throughout all therapeutic work.   Confidentiality
is carefully respected.
As is stated on the home page:

I believe in providing supportive and
effective counselling in a safe and
nurturing environment.  I empower
clients to identify problems with
renewed clarity and shift any destructive
patterns that may be keeping them stuck.
I am non-judgemental, non-blaming, and
highly respectful with all clients, am
creative and dynamic in approach, and
use a variety of therapeutic interventions,
strategies, and techniques.

I am careful to ensure clients are:

  • Comfortable with the  therapeutic
    work

  • Informed about the purpose of
    various therapeutic interventions
    and given the choice as to whether
    they wish to use them

  • Encouraged to give honest
    feedback about the work (I believe
    that such feedback helps to make
    sure I am 'on the right track' and that
    the work is indeed helping)

  • Given important information about
    the issues they face, in the form of
    handouts, literature, mapping of
    patterns, reference to services,
    books/websites, etc.
